FAQ
How does your process work?
A day prior to your hull cleaning you will be informed via text message. After the hull cleaning you will be texted a cleaning report. An invoice will then be emailed to you which allows you to pay online using Credit, Debit, or Venmo. We also accept Zelle and mailing of checks. We are no longer accepting cash.
What are your rates?
Rates can vary depending on hull condition, and location. We offer discounts at our main service areas which include: All portions of Gulf Harbors, Port Richey Marina, Port Hudson Marina, Sea Ranch Marina, Anclote Isles Marina. Rates typically range from $2.75 - $3.50 a foot. For any residential cleanings there is an $80 minimum.
Do you clean Pontoon Boats?
Unfortunately, we are no longer cleaning pontoon boats or any non-fiberglass hulls. Ideally, pontoon boats should be stored out of the water as their bottom paint often does not last long and stray current in the water can corrode the hulls.
How far inland do you service hulls?
We will service any boat in Pasco county and Tarpon Springs on the west side of US 19.
Does Justin clean all of the hulls on his own?
Typically yes. There are times where Justin has extra help to clean hulls. Any hull not cleaned by Justin will be inspected by him prior to receiving an invoice. You will also be informed if another diver is cleaning you hull.
Do you take before and after photos?
Before and after photos will happily be provided upon request. We try to send condition photos a few times a year so people can see the condition of their boat under the waterline.
Do you change zincs?
Yes, we change zincs when they are no longer serviceable. Once zincs begin to soften is when they will be changed. A heavily worn down zinc which is still hard is functioning well. We can supply zincs for a small added fee. It is preferred if you store extra zincs on your boat. Supplied zincs are typically changed out at no cost.
Do you offer one-time cleanings?
One time cleanings are only offered for hulls with functional ablative paint that have not been neglected. We can send you referrals for any hulls with heavy growth needing a one-time cleaning.
Do you clean docks and pilings?
Due to a tight monthly cleaning schedule, we do not clean docks and pilings unless we clean your hull on a consistent basis.
How often should my hull be cleaned?
In Pasco county, Hulls are typically cleaned on a monthly basis. Some boats in higher current areas or with aged bottom paint should be cleaned twice a month when the water is above 80 degrees.
Why is hull cleaning necessary?
Even light growth on a boat hull can keep Powerboats from getting on a plane. Mild amounts of barnacles on a sailboat can keep the boat from being able to point and steer straight. Fouling of the hull can also cause damage to your hulls barrier coat, allowing water to slowly wick into fiberglass hulls creating blisters and wreaking havoc. Barnacles growing over raw water intakes can inhibit water flow, leading your engine to overheating. Fouling of still functional zincs can lead to electrolysis, ruining propellers and thru hulls. A common cause of boats sinking is damaged thru hulls due to electrolysis.
